Student Access to Records

Each student has the right to view any items in their student files and may do so by written request. This request
will be granted within 5 business days of the request. When reviewing files students are not allowed to remove
any items/articles from their file. The student or anyone the student duly authorizes to view the files shall
examine the file in the presence of the School Director and/or other person(s) designated by the school.
All records request from anyone other than the student will not be granted unless the school has written
permission from the student. A copy of the student records can be purchased for $20. The School Director
is the official custodian of the student records. All records will be maintained for a period of 3 years
from the date of graduation or termination from the school. Only the School Director or his/her designee
will be allowed to release student information.

STUDENT RECORDS

Student records will be kept according to the guidelines listed in WAC 308-20-040.

The school will record and report student reports monthly. The report will contain the cumulative number of hours
the students attends class, and the number of times a student performs an activity as described in WAC 308-20-080.
The time recorded will be in at least quarter hour increments and will be signed by an instructor employed by
the school who is licensed in esthetics. At the time the final hours are reported to the department the school
will certify that the student has met the minimum instruction guidelines described in WAC 308-20-080. All student
records will be maintained at the school for three years. After three years, any hours earned that are more than
three years old are considered expired by department.
